Adi kailash
Adi Kailash
Nestled in the lap of the Kumaon Himalayas in Uttarakhand’s Pithoragarh district, Adi Kailash, also known as Chhota Kailash, is a place where nature’s grandeur meets deep spiritual reverence. Resembling the sacred Mount Kailash in Tibet, this majestic peak stands tall at an altitude of about 6,191 meters, surrounded by serene lakes, snow-clad mountains, and lush alpine meadows.
Adi Kailash is considered one of the holiest mountains for Hindus, as it is believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Pilgrims and trekkers visiting here often combine their journey with Om Parvat, where a natural snow formation perfectly mirrors the holy ‘Om’ symbol, making it a unique wonder of nature.
The journey to Adi Kailash is not just about reaching a destination—it’s a soulful adventure. Travelers pass through quaint villages like Dharchula, Gunji, and Napalchu, experiencing local Kumaoni culture, warm hospitality, and breathtaking landscapes along the Kali River. The route also takes you through thick forests, pristine streams, and vibrant valleys dotted with wildflowers.
